About Us

About Our Art

Beginning in childhood I have had training in all types of utilitarian sewing and needle arts, but my career path was design drafting, civil and industrial. In 1989 I discovered the world of fiber art, primarily in the area of felting, and have since taken instruction with some of the leading felt makers from the United States and abroad.

I now work full time with fibers; processing the raw materials, teaching felting classes and creating my own fiber pieces.

My pieces have been exhibited in several galleries in Missouri, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Scotland. I am a member of Missouri Fiber Artists, Best of Missouri Hands, Columbia Weavers and Spinners Guild, St. Louis Weavers Guild, and the International Feltmakers Association.

To take raw fibers to a complete project, whether it is a wearable fashion such as a hat, an inspiration wall piece, or a floor rug to cushion your feet gives me a feeling of accomplishment. Working with fiber is both relaxing and enjoyable. The friends I have made in the fiber art field are the most wonderful people to be involved with – such diversity and so creative. Inspiration to create comes from photos brought into a three dimensional piece and past memories of people, places, or things; moments in life we want to preserve. Some pieces are planned and others seem to take on a life of their own through the creative process and you realize you are just an instrument used to manipulate the materials.

“Hopefully my craftsmanship has created an item that somebody can use and/or enjoy.”
