About Us

About Our Art

Creating jewelry has always been my passion.  After 16 years of teaching science to middle and high schoolers, I have fully dedicated myself to my art and craft.  My background in geology, chemistry and physics is the root of my appreciation for natural stones and manipulating metal.  I am a self-taught artist; I took my first metalsmithing class in 2010.  Now, I participate in juried art shows in the midwest, show in local galleries, and am soon to be published.  My work is clean, simple, balanced – mixing metals to compliment natural stones.  I begin my process by choosing unique semi-precious stones that are as individual as each of us.  I design each piece of jewelry to accent the natural beauty – the pattern, shape or texture –  of the stone.   My goal is to create a simple and elegant setting to showcase the stones, that makes the wearer feel beautiful and adorned.

Short Description:

I use traditional metalsmithing techniques and tools to hand-fabricate jewelry from natural stones and sterling silver. I use the stone – its patterns, colors, or shape, to guide me in the design of each piece. I hand pick gemstones that inspire me to create truly unique jewelry that can be worn to express one's individuality. I mainly use sterling and fine silver to set the stone and add accents of contrasting warm copper or gold to enhance its natural beauty. I'll often add faceted gemstones such as garnet or citrine to balance the earthiness of the main stone.
