About Our Art
This BOMH Member is juried in two categories: Ceramics / Sculpture & Fiber.
“I’ve never seen anything like this.” That’s the comment I hear from those who view my fiber sculptures for the first time.
Each piece is created from pine needles, Irish waxed linen and a variety of natural and found objects, using the age-old techniques of basketry coiling. Since they grow organically – the needles dictate the direction and my hands follow – no two sculptures are ever alike.
I have been a full-time fiber sculptor for over a decade and, in that time, my work has been shown in over 400 solo, small group, juried and corporate exhibitions across the country, garnering just shy of 100 awards. Yet, even after completing hundreds of sculptures, my process continues to evolve and intrigue.
From the heady aroma of the pine needles to the repetition of the stitching that holds the coils in place, my art is my meditation, comfort and delight. What more could any artist ask?
