New Encaustic Painting – Julie Ann Hume

This is an encaustic painting l have just finished 8×18 inches if you are not familiar with the process, many layers of colored wax, heated after each application and carved, scraped, or polished to get finished product, done before oil painting had been developed usually start with bleached bees wax and then added color pigments , l have worked with wax for many years and am still intrigued by its challenges
