General: My silk garments are individually created using difficult and time consuming hand-painting and fabric manipulation techniques making each garment a unique piece of wearable art. I do not use techniques such as stamping, chemical or wax resists, shibori, tie-dying, screen-printing, or any duplicative processes commonly used by fiber artists. The earth-toned silk dyes I use are challenging because of the permanency of the dyes; I can’t redo it…I can’t repaint it…I can’t edit it…once the dye touches the silk fabric it is colored and permanent.
