As a photographer, I continually search for moments and scenes to capture. If I am out and about, one can almost be guaranteed to find a camera draped over my arm or held to my face. Photography allows me to freeze moments in time and share their beauty with others. As we all know, moments are fleeting and time causes changes. The draw, the beauty, of photography is that it allows me to capture those moments, to preserve them, allow others to experience the feel of that time. With a background in journalism, the visual story is so important. A photographer since college, I finds myself drawn to water, often focusing my photography on coastal scenes and lighthouses. Being based in the midwest, however, my body of work also includes rivers, bridges, barns, trees, monuments and more. In the end, regardless of subject, I believe photos are art, and art means something different to everyone- whether you hang it on your wall or hold it in your hand.
