About Our Art
Thank you for your interest in my artwork! I’ve always admired the beautiful, soft look of watercolor paintings, but it wasn’t until the fall of 2009 that I began taking watercolor lessons with a local artist. I now paint regularly at my home studio in St. Charles, Missouri. I continue to learn and grow as an artist, taking the occasional workshop and experimenting with subjects, styles, and materials. I love letting the water and pigment have its way with loose, watery, and splashy backgrounds and then getting into detail at the heart of the subject, be it the feathers of an owl or the eyes of a child. I hope you enjoy viewing my paintings as much as I enjoy creating them!
The majority of my paintings begin with a photograph taken by either me or my husband.
I especially enjoy the challenge of photographing birds and then using the photos as references for my paintings.
I am a Best of Missouri Hands Juried Artist, a Signature Member of the Saint Louis Watercolor Society, a Juried Member of the Greater St. Louis Art Association, as well as a member of Oak Leaf Artist Guild, and St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre, to name a few.
My paintings have won awards in art competions around the state, and I am currently a resident artist in two Missouri galleries: Missouri Artists on Main in St. Charles and Fresh Gallery in Springfield.
