About Us

About Our Art

As a lifetime resident of central Missouri, I grew up in the country drawing the animals on the farm, often spending hours down in the pastures and barns.  As I grew older, starting my own family, I had gotten away from drawing, but after taking an Art Appreciation class in 2014, my passion for drawing was rekindled and I naturally gravitated to pastels and colored pencils.  My subject of choice is still animals, primarily horses, but have begun to also branch out into portraiture.  To be able to convey the subject’s expression into my art is what brings me joy so a lot of my work is focused on the face.  I am a self taught artist just beginning on this wonderful art journey in 2014 but will continue to research, study and experiment with new techniques to incorporate into my art.  Starting a new piece, for me, is now comparable to reading a good book you just can’t put down.
