rhythms-in-marbled-shadows

A glass sculpture n the shape of a triangle with rhythm and flows of black and grays with the sparkle of dichroic glass.

Inspiration: finding the color and sparkle among the shadows

Artistic Process: First the design then lots of measuring and cutting of glass into 2 large triangles of black (2 fused together for each section (triangle). The smaller center triangle was made with glass powder mixed with water and then combined to create a marbled effect of black, greys with a bit of white. The thicker components start with black base, cutting up many different styles of dichroic glass and making a mosaic with clear glass on top to create depth, all casted. other dichroic components are cut. All the embellishments (components) were then tack fused to the background. Displayed in a black steel stand that keeps the sculpture very sturdy.
