The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri and ASL Pewter invite you to attend a pewter demonstration.  This is a free demonstration open to all ages led by the owners of ASL Pewter, Tom and Patricia Hooper, of Ste. Genevieve.
Saturday, July 18th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
During this “Day of Edutainment” (education and entertainment), the Hoopers will walk guests through the process of creating beautiful pewter goods from molds old and new.  This demonstration will include all the stages of making pewter pieces, sans the molten hot metal.  Guests will also be able to see the pewter molds (handmade and vintage), engage Patricia and Tom in a Q & A, and be able to take part in a pewter history lesson from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.  In addition, pewter items will also be on sale.
Tom and Patricia Hooper established ASL Foundry in 1995 in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.  The business has expanded over time making pewter tableware, household, personal items, and original designs.  They make their own molds as well as use historic molds to create these old of-a-kind pieces.  By using traditional processes they provide functional yet decorative pewterware.
More information about ASL Pewter can be found online at: www.aslpewter.com

Book a trip with Elite Travel by Aug. 10 and the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will receive a $200* donation on your behalf! More Information>

Help the Missouri Arts Council recognize Missourians who have made profound and lasting contributions to the cultural and artistic climate of the state. We need arts teachers who inspire a child for a lifetime; communities where the arts make it a great place to live, work and create; leaders who make things happen; artists and arts organizations whose creativity makes us glad to be alive; and philanthropists whose generosity makes it possible.

The Missouri Arts Council presents these awards every year, and the need for arts heroes never stops. You may be one yourself. Don’t let your arts heroes be invisible!

The awards will be presented in a ceremony at the Capitol in Jefferson City on February 10, 2016.
