Bells are ringing as another angel gets her wings

Dodie was a very special lady who left a lasting mark on our world.  She was one of the first people I met at my first Artsmart.  I had only learned about the organization the day before, and Dodie took the time to explain BOMH and the benefits to me.  Even though she was very busy with the conference, she took the time to introduce me to other artists, making me feel welcomed. Our paths didn’t cross often, but when they did, Dodie always stopped by to say hello, see how things were going, and give a quick hug.  She shared what she had learned from years of doing art shows with many BOMH artists over the years, including myself. Nancy Brickner

Dodie was kind and generous with her time and friendship.  She was a teacher and a great leader and will be greatly missed. Dodie, may your spirit continue to inspire the best in Missouri artists. Don Crozier

Dodie Eisenhauer was one of the founding members of the Best of Missouri Hands in 1985. Dodie epitomized the ideals which formed the basis of our organization. Her natural talent and imagination combined with her giving and gracious spirit served as an inspiration for all of us.

Dodie served several terms on the Board of Directors for the Best of Missouri Hands, helping guide the organization from its inception to what it is today. She is a long time juried Best of Missouri Hands metal artist selling her creations around the globe. From humble beginnings, Dodie reached for the stars, shining a light on everyone she knew. Daughter Jenny has grown up in the business working alongside her mother, creating her own designs. Each with a common thread that tied them together, they shared their creations at They have shown how you can take a passion and let it soar.

Dodie will be sorely missed and always remembered for her warm, caring, creative personality that was larger than life. Before her passing it was voted unanimously by the executive branch of the BOMH board to name the BOMH ArtSmart Scholarship in her honor. It is now known as the
“Dodie Eisenhauer Scholarship” henceforth.

Rest easy dear friend.
