BOARD MEMBERS WANTED

The Best of Missouri Hands is looking for board members, and WE NEED YOU!

The BOMH board makes decisions about the direction of the organization. We plan the ArtSmart Conference, organize the Visiting Artist program, produce online workshops, oversee advertising, coordinate social media, and much more. We seek to promote and help the artists of Best of Missouri Hands in as many ways as possible, and we want your voice on our Board of Directors.

Board members serve 3 year terms, with new terms beginning in July. Meetings are held bimonthly, via Zoom. We serve on committees, attend BOMH sponsored membership meetings, fundraising events, workshops, and serve as ambassadors for the organization. Board members can be general, juried, or corporate/gallery members of BOMH. We represent all areas of the state and all mediums of art.

Members find their time on the board rewarding:

“Serving on the BOMH board has been a great experience. BOMH really helped my wife get her business started and the networking opportunities afforded by the organization helped her succeed. It’s nice to be able to give something back to the organization. As a side benefit, I get to hang out with a group of artists, and we all know that artists are the best and most fun people.”

-Don Crozier

“Being part of the BOMH board has encouraged me to learn new skills, allowed me to spend time with artists whose company I enjoy, and helped me to give back to an organization that does so much good for Missouri artists. Leading the Visiting Artist program that sends our artists into schools shows students that there are thriving communities of talented artists all across our state.”

-Nina Miller

“I was fortunate to have found Best of Missouri Hands early in my art journey. After my first ArtSmart conference I was approached about joining the board. I am glad that I decided to say yes.  I have learned so much about the business of art and what it takes to make Best of Missouri Hands a benefit to so many artists. The board is made up of artists from all over the state, working in different mediums and on different journeys in our own art businesses. We work as a team to identify, pursue and offer opportunities for education, community outreach, exhibits, ArtSmart conference and so much more. It is very rewarding to play a small role in helping fellow artists and gaining friendships by being involved.”
