Call for Entries – “Fresh Art” Juried Exhibit
March 1 – March 29, Fresh Gallery, Springfield MO
We are thrilled to announce a BOMH exhibit in Springfield, MO. “Fresh Art”, a juried exhibit of the general and juried membership of the Best of Missouri Hands, will run from March 1 through March 29 at Fresh Gallery in the creative, bustling downtown arts district of Springfield MO.
The exhibit has been developed in response to a request from The Missouri Art Education Association, (MAEA) who wanted to provide their membership with the opportunity to learn more about BOMH and the talented artists of our organizations. MAEA will be holding their annual conference in Springfield during the exhibit and a tour is on their agenda. The exhibit will also be a part of first Friday downtown art crawl which draws large crowds to art galleries and arts destinations throughout the downtown region. An awards presentation and artist reception hosted by Fresh Gallery members will be a highlight of the Best of Missouri Hands ArtSmart Conference activities.

Fresh Gallery is a cooperative gallery sponsored by the Springfield Regional Arts Council to promote and market the fine art and fine craft of area artists. Fresh Gallery is situated at 400 W. Walnut at the SW corner of Campbell and Walnut in the bustling, creative downtown district of Springfield. The beautifully renovated space features refurbished hardwoods, painted tin ceilings, and vintage lighting. The exhibit will be included in the First Friday downtown art walk on March 1st, will be included in ArtSmart Conference activities and will be a featured exhibit for the Missouri Arts Educator Association conference attendees.
ELIGIBILITY: ANY Juried or General Member of Missouri Artisans Association, DBA, The Best of Missouri Hands may jury up to 4 pieces of art.
ENTRY FEE: Juried Members may submit up to 4 pieces for a $25 non-refundable fee, Non-juried members may submit up to 4 pieces for a $35 non-refundable fee. Acceptance into show does not include acceptance into MAA/BOMH Juried artist status.

MEDIUM AND SPECIFICATIONS: Any 2D and 3D work may be entered. Work not to exceed 48” in any direction. (covered cases not available for 3D pieces) 2D work must be wired and ready to hang (no sawtooth hangers).
EXHIBITION DATES: March 1 – March 29, 2013 Accepted work must remain at Fresh Gallery for the duration of the show, unless otherwise arranged with Fresh Gallery.
ARTIST RECEPTION & AWARDS: Three Awards of Excellence will be presented on the evening of March 16th during a reception hosted by the members of Fresh Gallery.
PROCEDURE: JPEG ENTRY BY EMAIL
A maximum of four entries per artist may be submitted for consideration. Artists may submit four JPEGs of actual work to be exhibited (limit image to 1024 pixels on the longest side).
JPEG format only will be accepted (no PowerPoint, just raw JPEG files). Include in your email the required information with each JPEG sent as it corresponds to the entry form (name, medium, and the entry#) . JPEGs must accurately depict accepted work or the work will not be installed. Email to director@bestofmissourihands.org, please include FRESH ART in subject line.

Send entry form and all fees to Fresh Art Exhibit The Best of Missouri Hands, Columbia at the address on the entry form – ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY February 7, 2013.
