Callaway Plein Air

An outdoor painting event and exhibit. Open to all artists 18 and older who want to paint outdoors in Callaway County. A Youth Division will also available for those 12—17.

Friday May 30 — Sunday June 1: artists will paint outdoors at locations throughout Callaway County. Participants will bring in their canvases to be stamped at gallery before event, and must have paintings at gallery by 4 pm on Sunday to be hung for exhibit. Media: oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel and pencil. All must be completed en plein air (outside, on location) in Callaway County and canvases must have screw eyes and wire for hanging. Works on paper must be mounted or framed for hanging. We will provide a map of Callaway County with suggested painting locations as well as select flower gardens courtesy of Fulton Garden Club.

Sunday night 6—8 pm, awards announced.
Opening reception for show will be our Summer Exhibit on June 5th. The show will be up through the month of June and will be adjudicated with Purchase Awards from area merchants, Cash Awards, Youth Division and more! On-line Entries Sought for Project Shock Top

A nationwide art contest in conjunction with the Downtown Hannibal Art Fair in Hannibal, Missouri on June 21-22, 2014. The contest is being coordinated by the Hannibal Arts Council in partnership with Renaissance Hannibal, Downtown Hannibal Art Fair, Golden Eagle Distributing and Shock Top.

St. Louis Artists’ Guild presents: Summer Regional Exhibition

The St. Louis Artists’ Guild’s Summer Regional Exhibition is an all-media, all-styles, all-content juried exhibition open to all artists residing in Missouri or Illinois. All Artists’ Guild members are allowed to submit work, no matter their geographic location. Cash prizes totaling $1000 will be awarded by the juror.

Labor Day Weekend 2014 ART FAIR AT QUEENY PARK

 

The Greater St. Louis Art Association proudly presents the Labor Day Weekend 2014 ART FAIR AT QUEENY PARK. The fair will be held inside the spacious, climate-controlled Greensfelder Recreation Complex in Queeny Park, Ballwin, Missouri (a suburb of St. Louis). The park address is 550 Weidman Road, Ballwin, MO 63011. Free parking is provided for artists and customers.

Labor Day is on Monday, September 1st this year, so the art Fair at Queeny Park will be on Friday through Sunday, August 29-31.

Lake of the Ozarks Festival of the Arts – June 20 – June 22

The Lake Area’s Promise for Youth is sponsoring “The Lake of the Ozarks Festival of the Arts” art show and sale at the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. The show will be held at the new Shawnee Bluff Winery, located at 2430 Bagnell Dam Boulevard.

All art entered into the show must be original art. The work must have been completed by the artist entering the show and no kit projects will be permitted.

Each booth space is 10’ x 10’ and you may take as many booth spaces as needed to display your art. The cost of the space is $40.00 for entries received before May 31 and $55 for late entries.

This show is being put on to help raise money for youth. Each participating artist is expected to donate 15% commission on the total of their sales to the Lake Area’s Promise for Youth. For additional information call Loren Woodard at 573.480.2003.

Ozarks Food Harvest and Panera Bread’s Empty Bowl presents the
“Empty Bowls” event.

The event will take place Friday, November 7, 2014 and Ozarks Food Harvest and Panera Bread are looking for a minimum of 100 bowls to be donated for the event by October 1, 2014. Ozarks Food Harvest will provide an in-kind donation receipt to the artist of the bowl, as well as recognition of the artist who created the bowl. Images of the bowls donated will be displayed on their website prior to the event, and the day of the event at the Panera Bread located at National and Cherry in Springfield (where the event will be held). A story behind the creation of the bowl, or information about the artist is greatly appreciated. Also, if the artist has ever been food insecure, a testimonial from them about that experience would be an amazing element to add to the bowl.

The event is open to the public. The first 100 participants of the Empty Bowls event that make a donation to OFH, receive a bowl of soup and a baguette at Panera, then move to the Bowl Gallery to choose the “Empty Bowl” that they would like to take home with them. This bowl will serve as a reminder of the empty bowls on thousands of tables across the Ozarks.
