About Us

About Our Art

Detailed drawings have always appealed to me. I was inspired to try drawing after my mother learned watercolor in her 60s and became a prolific artist. I began by challenging myself with small drawings I found in art instruction books. I started taking lessons from realistic-drawing artists. I’ve been drawing off and on for the last 19 years but have learned new techniques and drawn more since retiring in 2015.

Learning art has allowed me to observe the world around me in a whole new way. My images of life and objects are a choice I make to explicitly record my visual understanding to a depth and detail frequently overlooked. I try to combine the science of light and space to give the viewer an opportunity to see more and to enjoy more of what is seen.

Medias include charcoal, graphite and colored pencils. My artwork is on display at Missouri Artists on Main Gallery in St. Charles, MO.
