It’s Almost Time to Renew Your Membership

Hello fellow Best of Missouri Hands members.  We at BOMH are preparing for the annual dues renewal period which we intend to open on December 1, 2015.  Renewals will be due by January 1, 2016, as usual.  However, with the functionality of our new web site, we now have a new process.  So lend me an ear for a moment.

Those of you who became new BOMH members after mid-March 2015 by using the on line registration and PayPal subscription service, your time to renew has not yet arrived.  The January 1 renewal date is for all those who were members prior to then. If you became a BOMH member in 2015 and have a question as to whether it is time for you to renew, please contact me at the email address below.

IMPORTANT: To prepare our website for handling the renewal process for this first year only, we will need to take it down for a few days beginning this week.  It will be back up on Monday, November 30.

Beginning immediately, all new memberships and renewals will need to be made via the BOMH web site and paid for through PayPal.  Our member database on our website is maintained automatically when members join or renew their memberships on line.  This process updates our member database automatically.  We’ll be providing some more details after the Thanksgiving holiday as to the actual procedure for you to renew your membership.  And don’t worry if you don’t have a PayPal account.  PayPal will ask you how you want to pay, and you can do that by credit card or direct debit from your bank account.

Secondly, for you Juried Members:  It is imperative that you pay your Juried Member dues before the deadline of January 1, 2016.  The membership system will automatically downgrade those whose membership is not renewed by the deadline.  That means, once the system downgrades you to “public”, you will still be able to access the website and see anything the public can see, but your Juried Member status will be gone, and your webpage will no longer be visible.  Once you have been downgraded, you have lost your Juried Member Status.  That means re-joining as a General Member and waiting the 90 days to re-jury.  All this reflects long held BOMH policies and procedures for Juried Members.

A lot of people have done a lot of work to get the new web site to this point. We expect the membership renewal process will go smoothly for everyone. Of course, we all know computers can seem to have minds of their own. In the event you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at the address below. And thank you inadvance for your cooperation as we work through this first year with the new membership system.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.
