Jessie Cargas: New Work on Public Display / Richmond Heights, MO

This past week we were honored to receive our new piece of artwork created by an extremely talented Sculpture artist, Jessie Cargas @cargasjessie .
.
The City of Richmond Heights is participating in the Sculpture on the Move program, designed to foster relationships between communities and artists, as well as to grow art appreciation across our region. This program, now in its’ second year, is sponsored through the Creative Communities Alliance.
.
There are 17 participating cities, with 33 sculpture pieces. Our piece, entitled “Stalk” is a unique 8.5’ high sculpture made of shaped steel and powder coated in beautiful blue Polyurethane.
.
It is located in the raised triangle bed in front of @theheightsrh . An informative app, “Otocast” will be available later this spring providing the address, location and general description of each piece throughout the region. We encourage everyone to visit the various sites to enjoy these wonderful pieces. It is a great program to introduce the community to public art, on a rotating basis.
.
Each participating city will have the piece for a two-year period, with an option to purchase after that time. If you would like more information on the program, simply go to the Creative Communities Alliance website at www.creativecommunitiesalliance.com/sculpture-on-the-move.
