Maggie Lowe – Floor to Ceiling

Hi everyone, I’ve had a lot of people asking me “Where have you been?” Well, my life is changed pretty dramatically. In May of last year I retired from full-time work and am concentrating on my art…. in a BIG WAY- I mean REALLY BIG!

Let me bounce back about seven years. Nelson Naeger, A very creative business owner in my barter group, ABC BARTER, asked me for some mural artwork for his vapor shop on Dorsett Road. He wanted something a little different so he asked me to paint murals on the walls. He was pleased with the work, and we didn’t have much contact after that.

Fast forward about six years, Nelson called me to say that he is moving to a larger location and wants me to paint the new vapor shop as well. The new location is a full-size house that he is renovating. In a past life, it was a typewriter repair business. The footprint is roughly 55’ x 40’ about 2,200 Sq. Ft. (just the floor) and the scope of the work included all the walls and the entire ceiling, with the exception of the storeroom and back-office area. This is a ginormous amount of real estate to cover with gallons of latex paint using a 4” wide paintbrush! While it’s been challenging, it has also been an absolutely amazing experience! And without a doubt- the BIGGEST PROJECT I have ever taken on!  No regrets-I’m loving it!

Nelson has graciously agreed to hold an art opening for me to let me show off my work prior to installing all the products into the all-glass cases he has coming for his grand opening. We are nailing down a date now and it will be announced as soon as we get it arranged,  Meanwhile, I will share some images of the art with you and hope you will be on-board with coming to see the art in person when we present the work at the opening. Stay tuned for updates.    #muralartist #muralartistSTL #muralartistforhire #muralart #muralartistsofinstagram #muralartistwallsceiling #trompel’oeil #trompel’oeilartist #trompel’oeilmuralartist
