Congratulations to Juried Member Michelle “Mike” Ochnonicky of Eureka, Missouri.  Governor Nixon has once again chosen her to design the Missouri Christmas ornaments to be displayed on Missouri’s tree at the National Christmas Tree display in Presidents Park in Washington, D.C.  To be asked once is wonderful but Mike has been chosen three times.  Congratulations, Mike. You can read more at http://stlouisreview.com/article/2013-12-11/eureka-artist-chosen.

Corporate Member Columbia Art League will have its first exhibit of 2014: January 14 – February 21, 2014 January Opening Reception: Saturday, January 18, 6 – 8 pm.  Please Don’t Touch is a multi-layered show, inviting artists to play on the seductive nature of the tactile and its power to evoke a visceral, sometimes involuntary response in the viewer.  At a deeper level, the concept embraces the meaning of fragility, the frailty of the human condition, the natural work and unbreachable taboo.

Congratulations to Juried Member Elaine Sandra Abramson of Hazelwood. Governor Jay Nixon has endorsed her book From Fat to Fabulous: A Diet Guide for Restaurant Lovers.  Elaine created all the artwork in the book and the book jacket.  Elaine is an author, artist and illustrator.  You can find her work at Barnes & Noble, Amazon and Smashwords.
