Missouri Art Council – 2016 Art Grants Now Open

We are pleased to announce the 

FY17 Annual Applications and Guidelines.

This is an on-year for Arts Education, Arts Services, Dance, Folk Arts, Minority Arts, Theater, and Visual Arts. FY16 Applicants in Community Arts, Electronic Media Arts, Established Institutions, Festivals, Literature, Mid-Sized Arts Organizations, Multidiscipline, and Music (Instrumental and Vocal/Presenters) that desire continued funding must apply using the off-year application.

Changes
A few changes have been made to the grant programs to facilitate applications and distribution of funds.

• All support material must be submitted online. Off-Year applicants do not submit support material.
• The draft review process changed. Note directions on the last page of the application. 
• Some help text changed on the summary budget in annual discipline and arts education.
• Some narrative questions have been modified. 
• Spell check is currently not available. Use your word processing application for spell check. A useful tool for making your writing clear: http://www.hemingwayapp.com/

Deadlines
The deadline for draft reviews is Monday, January 25, 2016, 11:59 p.m.
(excludes off-year applicants).
The deadline for final submission (including support material) is Monday, February 29, 2016, 11:59 p.m. 

Success Tips
Use these tips to improve your application success:

• Make sure your profile is up-to-date with current contact information. This is the person we will contact to confirm submissions, send reminders, and seek additional information, if necessary.
• Write clearly, and assume the panelist knows nothing about your organization, programs, and community. Easy to read and easy to understand, is easy to fund.
• Have someone outside your organization read the application for clarity. They should be able to understand what you will use MAC funding for, and why.
• Submit a draft for staff review. Even experienced applicants benefit from having another set of eyes review your application and support materials.
