Before any more time passed, we wanted to make you aware of our first Open Exhibit at the Hannibal Arts Council for 2016!

February 12–27, 2016

Beautiful Minds

EXHIBIT DESCRIPTION: We want to know what creating art does for your brain in this two part exhibit.

  • One: Share up to two original art or written pieces which best represent you.
  • Two: Write a short description about what creating art does for you (i.e. escapism, therapeutic aspects, expressing yourself, capturing beauty).

Artwork/Writing In: Monday, February 8 and Wednesday, February 10 from 9-5

Opening Reception: Saturday, February 13 from 5-8

NUMBER OF ENTRIES:  A limit of TWO entries per artist.    EXHIBIT DETAILS:    Visual: Up to two (2) pieces in any media category may be entered – 2D or 3D.  Literary: Up to two (2) written pieces. Please write or type each piece on a separate 8½” x 11” sheet of paper. Does not have to be framed. If not included on the front, your name and title of piece must at least be on the back of the written work.    Both Visual and Literary: Answer the question…What does creating art do for me?  Please write or type your answer to this question on an 8½” x 11” sheet of paper. If not included on the front, your name must at least be on the back.  Open to youth 12-17 and adults 18 and older residing within a 50 mile radius of Hannibal.  Open to professional and amateur artists and writers.  There is no fee to include your piece(s) in the exhibit.  There are no size restrictions on submitted art pieces.  All Visual art must be properly framed or ready for hanging (i.e. hanging wire on back, attached from side to side). If you purchase a pre-made frame with sawtooth or other hooks/rings you must add eye screws or D-rings and hanging wire.   HAC has a limited number of pedestals for displaying 3-D piece(s).  If your work has specific requirements other than a 12 x 12” pedestal, please provide your own display. 

Entries may be for sale.  Sales will be subject to a 25% commission policy.
