ST. JOSEPH, MO-   Calling all artists! The City of St. Joseph, South St. Joseph Development Corporation, and the Allied Arts Council invite artists to apply for the traffic box public art project. The goal is to create and paint art on traffic signal boxes that contributes significantly to the vitality and attractiveness of the streetscape.  The successful submission will reflect the ethnic diversity and culture of a meatpacking town created by the industries of the past, which now embraces the future with new diversity, and culture.

Located at the northeast corner of Lake Avenue and Illinois Avenue this is the first partnership between the Allied Arts Council and the South St. Joseph Development Corporation. South St. Joseph Development Corporation Project Manager Martha Clark said she and the board look forward to working with the Arts Council to expand the arts to the Junction Revitalization area.
