Tresa Killion Visits Washington Elementary – Sedalia, MO

In February, juried Best of Missouri Hands clay artist, Tresa Killion made three school visits to Washington Elementary in Sedalia, MO.

I was able to work with about 200 students, maybe had 25 or so adults (teachers). Grade levels worked with were K-4th Grade.  Each child was presented with the basics of clay, tools & equipment used in clay work.

A project specific for each grade level was shown to the class, then we jumped right in!  Every child made their own piece with direction from myself & Miss Blakemore.  This was an extremely fulfilling & rewarding time with these children.  There are many children at Washington Elementary with challenges, but to see them achieve making a project from clay & to hear their enthusiasm was just an amazing experience.
