MOSAICS – FESTIVAL FOR THE ARTS – THIS WEEKEND:

MOsaics – Festival for the Arts:  September 18-20 

Main Street (north of First Capitol Drive)

 Friday 4-9pm  *  Saturday 11am-9pm  *  Sunday 11am-5pm

 

 

 

This annual FREE Arts Festival is a popular family-friendly weekend event, with activities for everyone including fantastic art, great entertainment, and the opportunity for children to create their own artwork.   Over 100 juried artists from across the state, region, and country will exhibit, discuss, and sell artwork.  For entertainment, a Performance Stage will showcase a variety of performing artists.  Children’s Village will provide Hands-On Art and Art For Youth Gallery will allow children to purchase professional art at a nominal fee.  Mentor Me Exhibition recognizes regional art teachers, students, and school districts for their arts programming and artwork.

Notice to Main Street Businesses:  Road Closures/Traffic Advisory during MOsaics:

  • Main Street CLOSED from First Capitol Drive to Clark Street/Riverside Drive from Friday, September 18 at 6am ‘til Sunday, September 20 at 8pm.
  • Jefferson, Monroe, Adams, & Olson will be closed at Main Street (no through traffic) throughout the festival.
  • The City Sweeper will go down Main Street on Thursday, September 17 at 7am & again on Monday, September 21.

 

MUSIC ON MAIN UPDATES – THIS WEDNESDAY:

 

Music on Main… September 16th Band Change – Butch Wax & the Hollywoods will now be performing (not Wrath of Kahn).  Stop by and see the Anheuser-Busch World Famous Clydesdale/Krey Distributing – Anheuser-Busch Distributor for St. Charles, Lincoln, Warren, & Montgomery Counties on North Main Street starting at 4pm.  After making beer deliveries to proprietors along North Main, there will be public photo opportunities in the 100-200 blocks until 6pm.

If you’ve been waiting for Syfy’s Ghost Hunters to showcase its 10th season, your wait is over!  When it debuts on August 26, the TAPS team — Samantha Hawes, KJ McCormick, Steve Gonsalves, Jason Hawes, Dave Tango, and Dustin Pari — will search for paranormal activity in 18 locations over the course of 13 episodes.
