Our next big event is Callaway Plein Air—a four-day plein air painting event culminating with a Wet Paint Reception and awards ceremony on May 31st. A month long exhibition of the over 150 works created during the event will follow at the Art House in June. Participation is limited to the first 50 artists to apply. Only about 12 places remaining.

Fun Art Friday – Watercolor & Ink Zentangle with I. Lynn Garriott-Porter

Friday, May 8, 6pm-8:30pm
Cost $35, ages 12+
Lynn will guide students in doing a painting in watercolor and adding ink zentangle using stencils. Beverages available.

En Plein Air Workshop with Brian Mahieu
Saturday, May 9, 9am-12pm
Cost $45, ages 18+
Brian will instruct students on how to see color and capture the atmosphere in painting en plein air. Outdoor locations to meet Brian will be announced and given to students who took the pre-requisite studio warm up that was in April. There will be four sessions and different locations on the four Saturdays in May.

Needle Felting a Bluebird with Gail Barnickol
Wednesday, May 13, 1:30pm-4pm
Cost $30, ages 10+

Gail will guide students in the fine art of needle felting to create a unique, bluebird ornament.

Oil Painting a Landscape with Corrine Williams
Friday, May 15, 6pm-8:30pm
Cost $35, ages 14+
Students will be guided step-by-step in painting a 11×14 landscape in oil; all supplies included. Beverages available.

Come by Art House on your way to the Fulton Farmer’s Market to see artist Jane Mudd in action.

Watercolor Trees with I. Lynn Garriott-Porter
Sunday, April 12,
10am-4pm (break for lunch)
Cost $50, ages 12+
Students will be guided in painting different varieties of trees and using different watercolor techniques. Students will be able then to choose which methods they prefer to incorporate into their own style. This class is helpful for beginning to intermediate watercolorists and useful to know should they wish to paint trees in watercolor in the Callaway Plein Air 2015 Event. All supplies included.

Art House Class Recommendations

Come prepared to paint. We can get messy so don’t wear your Sunday best and/or bring an old shirt or apron to protect your clothing. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of your class for check in.

**Please note on all classes at Art House, while we do love additions of students to our classes, if a class is full in advance the instructor may not be able to accept walk-ins so please CALL AHEAD to see if full.
