Art @ Des Peres Hospital Exhibit featuring BOMH Artists – Spring/Fall 2017 – St. Louis, MO

Art @ Des Peres Hospital is a unique endeavor to connect and inspire our community through the work of local artists and enrich the lives of hospital patients, staff, and visitors. It is well documented that art can help in the healing process. This program was developed to help alleviate some of the strain of a hospital experience. Art can take us out of the moment by giving us something else on which to focus. It is our hope with this exhibit that we can create a richer environment and a more pleasant experience for patients, guests, employees, and medical staff.

Incorporating an extensive space on the second, third, and fourth floors of Des Peres Hospital, this project brings together a diverse community of artists and organizations dedicated to contemporary visual art, offering a rotating exhibition of art unlike any other in our region. Our shared goals for the program are:
1) Create a dynamic, aesthetically rich, and engaging environment through artworks spanning a wide range of styles and expressions.

2) Spark curiosity and elevate and enliven the intellectual and emotional well-being of hospital visitors and staff.

3) Celebrate the work of local artists and further develop their audience by creating a new outlet through which artists can impact our community.

Art @ Des Peres Hospital Spring-Fall 2017 exhibition opened mid-May 2017 and features 118 original artworks in a variety of media by 17 St. Louis regional artists representing the four partnering artists’ organizations: Art Saint Louis, The Best of Missouri Hands, Foundry Art Centre, and St. Louis Artists Guild. The exhibit continues through October 29, 2017 and is free and open to the public during regular Hospital visiting hours, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
