At Fresh Gallery, we like to highlight our artists during the First Friday and Second Saturday festivities. For December, it is our pleasure to feature Carole Ogden.
Carole Ogden is relatively new to Fresh Gallery. Her heritage, vast travel and education has given her a wealth of subject matter. Her pieces depict every day scenes and animals, but her approach to these subjects is anything but ordinary. Each piece is full of vivacious color, distinct lines and contemporary life. Ogden brings life to her paintings with a wide array of color and a taste of the modern.
Ogden is a French born colorist painter. Her artistic process began as a child while interacting with her French grandmother and painter. Now, the primary source of inspiration for her richly diverse subject matter comes from her European roots and love of travel. Her art is characterized by vibrant colors, curvy lines, and bold compositions.
Ogden uses color to paint a magical feeling of the world that one may see in the day-to-day. Like the master colorist Henry Hensche, Ogden feels, “Paintings are the visual music of the world.” It is through her color-drenched artwork that this artist finds inner joy. Through this world of bright colors and shapes she tells her story. Her artistic lines are the roads that have finally taken her home.
In addition to Fresh Featured Artists, we like to boast about our members having works in other venues, competitions, and exciting opportunities. Karla Breeding Trammell will have her painting, “Line Dance,” on display at the Springfield Art Museum as part of the Watercolor Now Exhibit from November 21, 2015 through March 6, 2016. This show is made up of work by members of the Watercolor USA Honor Society. Trammell is honored to serve on the Board of Directors of this group as Recording Secretary.
