Healthcare & Artists – Satisfied? or Troubled?

So, as the heading of this article poses, are you satisfied with your current healthcare or are you concerned with your situation?

Healthcare has been in the news a lot lately and the news stories are set to increase as we get closer to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act this fall.

Many times as artists we don’t have the safety net with benefits that a traditional job provides. Many artists either go without healthcare entirely and keep their fingers crossed or pay exorbitant fees to only have huge deductibles that make it seem to be money down the drain.

There is a group working in our state to facilitate the new changes that are coming to the health care system. The first steps with Missouri Health Care For All is to chat with folks who have health care challenges and then offer solutions to assist in the acquisition of a plan if you are planning on checking out what is available come October to Missourians.

Health Care Stories Wanted!

Missouri Health Care for All, a statewide, grassroots movement working for access to quality, affordable health care for All Missourians, is looking for people willing to share their stories with our health care system. Specifically, theyʼre looking for people who fit any of the following categories:

  • Uninsured
  • Have insurance thatʼs really expensive
  • Have insurance that doesnʼt cover everything you need

If youʼd be willing to speak with a member of the organization, please contact Jen Bersdale at jen@mohealthcareforall or 877-383-8884. Someone will call you back to learn about your story and tell you a little more about the new options coming this fall.

Your story will stay within the organization unless you give them permission to share it.

Missouri Health Care for All also invites those who support their belief that “Every
Missourian deserves access to quality, affordable health care” to learn more about this organization and decide if you would like to participate in their study at www.mohealthcareforall.org.
