MHC Awards Update

The Missouri Humanities Awards – Best of Missouri Hands Artist Submission

The Missouri Humanities Council is excited to be partnering with the Best of Missouri Hands in creating an unique opportunity for Missouri artists to submit works of art in various mediums for consideration for the upcoming Missouri Humanities Awards.  The Missouri Humanities Awards will be held in April 2013 in Jefferson City.  Each year individuals or groups are selected for their outstanding achievement in the humanities throughout Missouri.

The Missouri Humanities Council is reaching out to the Best of Missouri Hands to create an award as specific to Missouri as the Missourians being recognized.  In seeking an artist from The Best of Missouri Hands, MHC is supporting an organization whose core mission is to support the arts and artisans of Missouri and whose members represent a community of some of the finest artists and artisans in the state.

MHC has received several applications from Best of Missouri Hands artists. Anna Marie Wingron, with MHC states, “It is going to be difficult to choose one artist. The sumbissions are all beautiful and unique. We are thrilled to have such a wonderful selection to choose from and thrilled to be able to provide our award winners with an original work produced by a Missouri artist of such high caliber.”  Wingron expects a decision will be made by mid-December.
