Meet the BOMH Board: Kim Carr

Name: Kim Carr

Role on the Board: Communications Chair (Facebook/Newsletter)

Joined the board when: 2012

Why you joined board/goals you hope to accomplish? My goal was to learn as much about the art world from every aspect possible.  I was also looking for a way to get involved with like minded folks.

Favorite thing about serving on the board:  All the artists I have met from around the state and all mediums, not just photography.  I’ve learned so much from fellow BOMH members and have developed life long friends.

Other organizations you are a part of? Greater St. Louis Art Association and the Columbia Art League

Hobbies other than the actual art you create: Farming, Kayaking, Writing, Collecting Donkey and Mule art

If an artist, your medium: Photography

Brief description of your work: I do natural light, non manipulated photography with an emphasis on farm animals.  I am currently working on a photo project focusing on heritage breed farm animals in danger of extinction.  I hope to do a book in 3-4 years featuring Missouri farmers and rare breeds of livestock.
