Kevin Spacey Foundation Artists of Choice Grants
KSF Grants support emerging artists and companies, recognising them as KSF Artists of Choice.
A KSF Grant gives a financial boost of up to $10,000, mentoring opportunities with respected industry professionals and advice on how to promote yourself / your company and your project.
Each year KSF selects twelve KSF Artists of Choice, four UK based applicants, four US based applicants and four Canada based applicants.

LIVE WORKS Performance Act Award
LIVE WORKS is a platform dedicated to live contemporary practices that contribute to deepening and broadening the idea of performance, following the current evolution of performance and its styles. This platform aims to measure the concreteness of performance art in the real world, investigating the double nature of LIVE – in person and alive – highlighting those moments in which performance integrates with the dynamics of life. Created in 2013 by Centrale Fies, in collaboration with Viafarini and now in its fourth edition, LIVE WORKS includes: LIVE WORKS Performance Act Award, The Free School of Performance, Centrale Fies Performance Art Collection.

Women on the Wing Residency
Woman on the Wing is a week long residency for international female artists interested in air, flight and the sky to work together to experience celestial phenomenon. The residency, which will take place in the spring of 2016, will facilitate daily excursions into the air through field trips including piloting a small aircraft, gliding, sailing and arial yoga with experts, astronomers, and meteorologists. Residents will lose touch with the ground.

Lawrence Cultural Arts Commission Grants
Grants are anticipated to range from $500 to $10,000. Awards will equal no more than 50% of the total project or activity cost. Cost-share may be cash and/or in-kind. The application packet must include current, signed letters of commitment confirming in-kind or cash contributions to the project from any third-party contributors and current letters from the named collaborators (or a representative of named collaborating organizations) confirming their participation-applications that do not include these letters will be disqualified.
Eligible for LCAC grants are organizations and individuals with a Lawrence, KS, address proposing projects sited in Lawrence that are designed to meet the purpose of the LCAC Grant Program.

Johnson County Library Maker-in-Residence
The Maker-in-Residence program at the Johnson County Library MakerSpace is funded through a Black & Veatch grant. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for 4 month residencies.
Equipment and facilities for: 3D printing, computers and software, electronics, audio and visual, wearables, laser cutting, CNC cutting, vinyl and die cutting, etc.

MidCoast Takeover 2016
The Midwest Music Foundation is proud to present the seventh annual MidCoast Takeover, March 16th -March 19th, at Shangri-La in Austin, TX. MidCoast Takeover will showcase over 100 bands and solo musicians from Kansas City, Lawrence, the Midwest, and beyond on a national stage.
Middle of the Map Fest, I Heart Local Music, Seen Merch, and Black Vine Enterprises will be hosting day parties as part of the showcase.
Exceptional audio and video production will be provided by Kansas City’s own CM2 Audio and XO Blackwater TV Party. MidCoast Takeover will feature locally built C&C Drums.

Continuous Exchange at Epsten Gallery
The Epsten Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition, Continuous Exchange, featuring site-specific installations of ceramic sculpture by artists: Nathan Craven, Margaret Kinkeade and Casey Whittier (Artist INC alumn). Featured works reflect upon traditions of making, community experience, nature, time, and place. Continuous Exchange occurs in conjunction with Makers, Mentors and Milestones, the 50th Annual Conference of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) in Kansas City, taking place March 16 – 19, 2016.

Artists Selected for Artist Inc Live KC Spring 2016 Announced
Artist INC, a collaborative partnership of the University of Missouri – Kansas City Innovation Center and Mid – America Art Alliance announces the artists selected for the spring 2016 session of the Artist INC Live seminar. With this roster of 25 Kansas City – based artists, Artist INC has now reached more than 500 artists in Kansas City and throughout the region since 2009 with its nationally – recognized arts entrepreneurship program, designed to give artists from all disciplines the business training and support needed to strengthen their art practice and grow their arts business. Kansas City area artists selected for the 8 – week session that begins March 7 include visual artists Benjamin Parks, Gary Cadwallader, John Daniels, Genevieve Flynn, Megan Gallant, Neil Goss, Alison Greene, Erica Iman, Kathy Liao, Katrina Revenaugh, Gary Rockhold, Lauren Sobchak, Karen Steen, Gemma Tornero, and Brittany Vega; musicians Brad Cunningham and Sean Mawhirter; theater/performing artist Kevin King; literary artists Kelly Hams-Pearson and J.P. McNamara; and film/video artists Bruce Branit, Jefferson Donald, Matthew Dunehoo, Elizabeth Stehling, and Kevin McKinney.
