STONE SOUP GALLERY – Meet the artist Paul Bayer

We are so proud of our stone sculptor
Paul Bayer
and we want to introduce him to you.

Paul has exhibited his many marble, onyx, and alabaster sculptures in Stone Soup Galleries since we opened our doors three years ago. He is a man who is passionate about stone. Before carving, Paul studies the block he is working with, taking in the native surface properties, matrix lines and inherent patterns. Only then does he begin to  liberate the form which has lain captive in the stone for millennia.

A gem in our city’s crown is the City Museum where Paul is the resident stone sculptor. When you visit you will see his many original and collaborative works shown throughout. Be sure to check out the June 2015 issue of St. Louis Magazine which features a behind the scenes article about Paul and the huge marble stone he is carving for the City Museum on Saturday mornings.
We invite you to meet Paul at our next fun reception on Friday, July 17 along with the latest abstract acrylic painter to join us, Terry Hinkle.
The are both quite the characters and you will be glad you met them.
The following are the Invited Artists of Stone Soup Galleries.
On most days we have artists in the gallery working on their art.

As always, please “bother” us.
We love nothing more than telling you about what we do.
