Think Like An Artists – Missouri Art Ed Association – Spring Conference – Kirkwood, MO

The Missouri Art Ed Association (MAEA) is hosting their Spring Conference at the Frontenac Hotel off Lindbergh Blvd April 7-9. Guest speakers include Olivia Gude on Friday and Allison Saar on Saturday morning. Our theme is “Think Like An Artist.”

1. I would like to invite BOMH members to join our conference as attendees! We are offering full conference registration or one day tickets for Saturday. We bring in vendors such as Krueger Pottery, Sax Arts & Crafts, Dick Blick, School Specialty, Crayola, Amaco, and many more. More information and registration can be found at http://www.maea.net/spring_conference_2016

2. I am in charge of our kick-off social event called Bizarre  Bazaar. We are having the event at Kirkwood Station Brewery in Kirkwood from 6:00-8:00pm. Artists who register for the conference get a free table to do a “quick sale” style setup and sell their work for free. No commission, no fees. Kirkwood Station is doing free advertising and we expect 150+ art educators for this social time. Set up is 5:30-6:00, first come first serve where your table will be. Band will play on the bar side at 9pm. Any artist from BOMH who want to sell a few pieces of original art, prints, old supplies, books/resources, surplus, etc.(informal setup), is welcome! The cost is a minimum $25 (donation in cash or product for our silent auction at the hotel during our conference) and you may eat free appetizers at the event. No commission on sales. We are wanting real practicing artists to network with our teachers as artists.

3. We are also looking for artists who are interested in giving a workshop or presentation on their work, their process, experiences, or methods ! They are encouraged to register for the conference and be able to attend all events, guest speakers, and entrance to the vendor hall for free. If not interested in attending the conference, only giving a workshop or presentation, then they can come just for their workshop time and leave. Proposals are being accepted online at http://www.maea.net/spring_conference_2016
