Missouri Citizens for the Arts to present information about arts advocacy at The Creamery Arts Center

Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 3:30pm

The Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC) continues its Speaking of the Arts series with valuable information about how to be a strong arts advocate. “States of the Arts Advocacy” will take place at The Creamery Arts Center in the Thomas W. Finnie Board Room on Thursday, January 14, at 3:30pm.

Led by Michelle “Mike” Ochonicky, Executive Director of Missouri Citizens for the Arts (MCA), the presentation will offer information on the current climate for the arts in Missouri and provide tips on how to effectively advocate for the arts. “In today’s economy,” Ochonicky says, “it is important for every stakeholder in the arts to be an advocate for the arts. The key to being an effective arts advocate is the ability to articulate why the arts are so important to Missourians.”
