Workshop – Lighting and Grip with David Houlle – St. Louis, MO

Midwest Filmmaker Workshops will host their sixth workshop in their inaugural series entitled, Lighting and Grip with David Houlle. This day-long presentation will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm at Bad Dog Pictures, located at 1501 S. Kingshighway in St. Louis, Missouri.

 

The Lighting and Grip with David Houlle workshop will be presented by David Houlle, the owner operator of Sight & Sound Production Services, Inc.

 

David Houlle has been in the grip and lighting business for the past 36 years. He has worked mainly as a gaffer on all kinds of productions as well as chief rigging electrician and best boy electric on Hollywood productions such as Up In The Air, Meet Bill and recently the William H. Macy production of The Layover, now in post-production.

 

Houlle has lit sports figures, local to national political personalities, past and present Presidents of the United States, TV correspondents, Fortune 500 CEO’s, Oscar-winning actors and helped several cinematographers like Freddie Francis and Walter Lassally seek another Academy Award. He has also lit many a music videos for the likes of Nellie to the unknown artist. David has focused his lights on tabletop products, trucks, race cars, dogs, cats, kids, Clydesdales, motor boats, trains, buses and even John Deer tractors.

 

David Houlle has a BFA in Photography from the Kansas City Art Institute, has lectured at such learned institutions as SIUE, Webster University, Lindenwood University and many film/video professional groups over the years. He is a member of the Executive Board of Cinema St. Louis and a member of the IATSE Local 493 Executive Board.

The regular cost of attending this workshop session is $90 per person. A discount rate of $75 is being offered for “early bird” registration by July 10th. The discounted rate is also available for Students and Seniors with a valid ID. Tickets will also be available at the door the day of the event for $100.
