A Message from the Gallery of Inspiration

My name is Beverly Northcutt and I am the Director of Gallery of Inspiration in Cape Girardeau, MO.  Our gallery showcases the artwork of several talented individuals who are clients of Community Counseling Center here in the city. They struggle daily with a mental illness and the stigma associated with it. The Gallery of Inspiration serves as an avenue for the artists sell their artwork with 100% of sales going directly to them. Art serves as a great therapy and outlet for them to express themselves.  Throughout the year we conduct workshops/classes to help our artists stay sharp on their skills. We also allow them to come into the Gallery of Inspiration any time they want to work on bigger projects. As you know, it is coming down to the end of the year so it is time for us to start looking toward next year. We need to raise about $1500. for art supplies such as paints, canvases, paint brushes, pastels, drawing pencils, drop cloths, clear bags, matts for photos, and other supplies. Any help we receive will be greatly appreciate.

ARTS OUT & ABOUT
11th Annual Ste. Genevieve Plein Air Painting Event
Ste. Genevieve, MO
Contemporary painters will find the same French colonial buildings, Victorian commercial structures, and extensive gardens in the downtown historic district that intrigued the artists who founded the Sainte Genevieve Art Colony some 80 years ago.  The ragged Mississippi shoreline, midwestern farms, and remnants of old building sites still appeal.  Seven picturesque wineries, Hawn State Park, Pickle Springs Nature Preserve, and other conservation areas are easily accessible by car.

The Painting Event includes a Plein Air Show and Sale at the Hayloft Gallery, a Night Paint Timed Event, Participainting Event with guild instruction in watercolors, the Fourth Friday Art Walk, and Booths “On The Square.” Art Supplies will be available on site all Friday and Saturday from Van Go of Cape Girardeau.

September 23 – 27, 2015
Registration Fee for the Entire Event is $35 ($25 for Sainte Genevieve Art Guild Members). All entries must bear registration stamp on back of canvas or paper.

Awards for the event total $2,000 and will be selected by judges Bryan HaynesBilly O’Donnell, and Craig Thomas.

For full details of the Plein Air Event, visit the event page at www.artstegen.org
